1) Freemason Athletic Club - spring festival party was held on Feb. 22 at Tai Kung Charity School. 2) Dart Coon Club Montreal - president ; vice 3) Dart Coon Club Lethbridge - President ; vice 4) Freemason Van. - helped a victim, , a cooly in Princeton. Mr. Leong lived in Princeton for 25 years and was a devoted member of Freemason and Leong Chong How Tong. On Jan. 25, he was beaten to death by a white man in Chinatown1 who accused Leong with peeping into his room. SOS's were sent bo Freemason and Leong Ch_ How in Vancouver whereby both associations sent reps, and a lawyer to Princeton. A combined meeting was then held on Feb. 15 in Van. where they decided to send reps, to the court in Vernon for the court hearing on April 28. The winning of the case was important because it would mean security and safety in future Chinese communities. All expenses would be raised and paid by the 2 associations involved. 5) 43 Restrictime Immigration Law Abolishment Activities Cttee - a general meeting was held on Feb. 23 at CBA. Reports were made by Foon Sien who made contact with white organizations. The Shingle workers union, fishermen's union, boiler's union, etc. were in favour of the Chinese community. 2nd issue they discussed was Canadian Ambassador to China would be in Van. from March 17-22. A banquet would be held for him on March 19. There were donations for the Cttee. 6) Chinese War Relief Ass'n - held a meeting on Feb. 23. Speeches were made to encourage support for Canadian Aid to China. 7) Chinese Veteran's Ass'n - Van.: election meeting on Feb. 5 - executive list; President ; vice
