During the appeal, a Chinese minister was asked to prove that the couple was legally married, and eventually Mrs. Chiu was admitted.2)A Chinese evil drug seller was put to prison for 1 year, in addition to $1000 fine.3)4 Chinese and 2 whitemen were arrested in an opium den. The Chinese were con- victed.4)The famine relief Assoc. Victoria - received a receipt from the which praised the association for generous donations.5) CKT H.Q. announced that the general convention to be held at Honolulu would be postponed
