July 23rd, Monday P. 31. The C.B.A. announced on July 23rd that 20 executives were elected in thepreliminary election on July 21st. On July 24th, these 20 members would be examined for their qualifications and then they would be elected for posts on the 28th.2. 40 Chinese gamblers were arrested. The head was bailed out at $100 whilethe gamblers were bailed out at $25.3. The C.B.A. in Montreal had also elected the executives.The preliminary election had been held on July 8th. The executives elected in the preliminary election consisted of:(a) 8 representatives from the businessmen in Chinatown.(b) 6 representatives from the laundry business.(c) 2 representatives from the restaurant business.(d) 9 representatives from commercial or other associations, (usually the presidents were the representatives in the C.B.A.)The final election would be held on July 15th when the 25 executiveswould be elected for 7 various posts.
