March 27, Thursday P.3 The Chinese Association in Ottawa () had sent an appeal to Ambassador Yeung so thathe could negotiate with the government on immigration issues. Since the government had inspected the status of Chinese students and confiscated their head tax and deported them if they were found to be working.Ambassador Yeung returned a letter to the Chinese association that he would protect the welfare of the Chinese immigrants and negotiate the case with the immigration department
