April 1st, TuesdayP.3 1. The 1,000 Chinese shingle factory workers were still on strike. They hadfought for a whole month to protest against the reduction of salaries. A speech daywas held on March 31st in Theatre where they decided not to givein to the management. They thought that such collective behavior among the Chineseworkers was the 1st time in the history of the overseas Chinese. The winning of theirdemand was essential
