April 14P.2 1) Canadian Legion ( ) held a discussion on drug influences andrestrictive regulations, the religious society also sent reps. Some suggested that offenders should be put into prison, or beaten up, or deported. They wanted action immediately. Some added that if they deported all Chinese, the drug problems would be terminated.P.2 2) The Sun reported on an article by a whiteman who suggested that if a petitionwas drawn up with many signatures, all Chinese would be prohibited from entering Canada.3) A Chinese ex-con was re-arrested again for the same offence - selling cocaine. He was to be put in prison for 1 year in addition to $1000 fine. p.3 4) A Chinese was fined $200 for possession of opium.5) Fund raising Victoria - announced that a bazaar would be held on April 15/16 at CKT to raise funds for famine relief.6) An announcement about income tax returns. A rep. would go from door-to-door .to collect returns. Those who did not hand in returns by the deadline, would be fined $100 per day or 6 months imprisonment.7) CKT H.Q. - announced that the H.Q. in San Francisco would hold the 2nd general convention on June 1 to discuss the establishment of the 5-ancestor temple. The H.Q. in Victoria already elected to be the representative of the H.Q. in the general convention. The associations in the E. provinces should unite and elect a rep so that preparations could be made before going to the convention. Donations were wlffiome.No.2 announcement - a school would be established soon;and family would be going back to China. The post would have to befilled by another talented person. It was suggested that all branches send innames of able persons before June so that selection could be made in the generalmeeting.8) Lung Kong Kung Shaw - Toronto - the association renovated the associational building at 24 Elizabeth St. The association would move in on May 8. A banquet would be held
