October 31, 1922 (Tuesday)P.3 (1) The Retail Businessmen's Association complained about the enormous number of Asian owned shops. It asserted that the Asians were pouring into Canada by using the status of merchants, thus restriction should be imposed on their entry. Besides, the government should be aware of the fact that many Asians came to Canada by pretending to be students or tourists. (2) A Canadian wrote to the Vancouver Sun saying that he was strongly infavor of excluding the Asians. From what he could see, the Asians had been exploiting the whites, especially in the farming market. The Asians had been the primary supplier in the farming market and if no action was taken to stop them, the market would soon be monopolized by the Asians.P. 3 (3) Names of the executives of ~tW- CL--*. t'-c ^ ^c^ o£ Torontoin 1923.
