The relationship between Chee Kung Tong and Chinese Revolution was emphasized.P3 2) The association for protest against the restrictive immigration law in Vic. announced on July 30 that the new Chinese immigration law had been approved and would be enforced soon. The Chinese merchants were particularly picked on. It was hoped tha they would be alert in order to avoid trouble. The new regulation was as follows: all Chinese merchants who came to Canada after 1917 and had changed their ocupation had to pay $500 head tax, otherwise they would be deported
