Executives would be elected to raise funds for establishing the railway. , who came to Van. fromChina gave a report on the preparation work that had been done for several years. He stressed that the cooperation of the overseas Chinese was significant in building the railway. It was decided in the meeting that Tung Fook Tong would become the temporary office for the preparation of building Ping Yeung Railway.2) CBA Victoria. A general meeting had been held on Dec. 2 to discuss the protest against the prohibition of the Chinese from employing female Indian and white workers. Consul General Lira from Vancouver, &from CBA Vancouver had also attended the meeting. In addition to the decisions, made by the CBA Vancouver, the following were passed:(a) All funds for use in the protest were to be raised by the 2 CBAs.(b) The consent of the 2 CBAs were required for any withdrawal of money exceeding $50.(c) CBA Victoria should take the lead in this protest.(d) All cheques were to be signed by the presidents of the 2 CBAs. All money was to be kept in the Royal Bank.(e) The H.Q. would pay for the expenses of all representatives who came over to Victoria for meetings.3) News from Nanaimo: was raising funds for School in Canton. Door to door donation was called for and about $300 raised.4) Dart Coon Club and Chee Kung Tong (Nanaimo). After these, urged the people to buy shares for the realty of Chee Kung Tong in Vancouver and also bonds for Tai Tung Newspaper.
