JUNE 2.(MONDAY)P.I 1) A continuation of the comment on the immigration laws in Canada & U.S.P./2 2) CBA (VICTORIA) made an announcement on May 6 urging the Chinese in all places in Canada to observe July 1 as a humiliation day so as to show their unity. The several things that were to be done on that day were published. (Refer to May 5 and May 31).P.3 3) News from the immigration office. An announcement that those Chinese immig- rants who had come to Canada before there was the issuance of head tax certificates or those who had lost their certificates should go to register with the immigration office and that they should report to the immigration office if they found the officers tried to ask them for money. P.3 4) CBA (VICTORIA). A meeting was held on June 1 to discuss raising funds for Chinese Humiliation Day t' . (an executive of the association for protesting the restrictive Chinese immigration law) proposed that the money that was previously raised for the protest could now be used for pre- paring Chinese Humiliation Day. His proposal was approved by all and a let- ter would be sent to the Association to bring out his issue. It was known that the Overseas Chinese in both Vancouver and Victoria had responded en- thusiastically to the 1st circular that was sent out last week. A 2nd one had already written by a committee member and would be handed out soon. It was hoped that the Chinese would remain enthusiastic and would give support to observing the Chinese Humiliation Day
