(2) News from Montreal the C.B.A. in Kentreal was trying theirbest to abolish the restrictive law against Chinese laundrymen although the legislative meeting gave in by letting laundromats with less than 3 workers split the tax into two payments, while those with more than 4 workers still had to pay the tax immediately the C.B.A. would like all the laundrymeii to refuse payment. The C.B.A. further stressed that they had hired a lawyer to defend the case arid hoped that the laundrymeii would not be persuaded by a few destructive Chinese to pay the tax. finally, the C.B.A. added that the Chinese had to fight to the end for their own rights without giving in
